How to choose

WallMock

Best for: print-on-demand and wall art sellers on Etsy and Shopify who list many designs and want every one shown in the same favourite rooms.

WallMock is a wall art mockup generator for Etsy and Shopify sellers: your exact artwork in realistic styled rooms as framed canvas, framed prints or posters. You save favourite rooms and frame looks once, add a whole collection, and every artwork is made in every chosen room. WallMock places your file as it is: it is never redrawn, repainted or upscaled by AI. Plans start at $5 a month. Anyone can try free watermarked previews. Full access is by invitation during the beta: request one, then sign in with your invited email. Payments are in test mode during the beta, so no real payment is taken yet.

Where others are better: WallMock has no true-scale measuring, no uploads of your own room photo, no video on Lite, and you need an invitation for full access.

WallMockup

Best for: sellers who want previews at true scale and a low monthly price.

WallMockup (wallmockup.net, a different company from WallMock) describes itself as a true-scale wall art mockup tool for artists, photographers and print sellers. On 2026-10-28 its home page listed 720 room scenes and 54 frame styles, a 7-day trial with no credit card and up to 10 exports in any rolling 24 hours, a Pro Monthly plan at $4.99 a month with no export cap stated and 10 credits a month, and a $5.99 one-time Creator pack of 100 credits that don't expire. Credits pay for custom AI-made rooms and HD exports. Its batch page says one set holds up to 60 room-and-frame combinations, and its tools page lists 21 free tools.

Where it is better: true-scale sizing, the lowest monthly plan price listed here, open sign-up and more free tools. See our WallMock vs WallMockup comparison.

ArtPlacer

Best for: artists, galleries and art advisors who sell to collectors.

ArtPlacer calls itself an all-in-one marketing and sales platform for artists, galleries, art dealers and curators. On 2026-10-28 its pricing page showed a 14-day trial and Artist plans from $9 a month (Basic, up to 50 artworks), or $8 a month billed yearly, in US dollars. Its Personal Spaces let you upload a photo of a client's room, from the Standard plan.

Where it is better: your own room photos, virtual exhibitions, collector tools and website integrations. Our ArtPlacer alternative page has the details.

Smartist

Best for: artists who work on iPhone, iPad or Mac.

Smartist is an app for showing art in styled interiors. On 2026-10-28 its site showed a free plan whose exports carry a small watermark, a 7-day trial of Pro, and Pro at $19.99 a month, or $7.49 a month on the yearly plan, with 3000+ interiors. Its help centre says prices depend on your region. Its feature list includes uploading your own space and video mockups.

Where it is better: a native Apple app, your own interiors and video mockups.

Mockey

Best for: sellers who need mockups for many kinds of products, plus video and AI extras.

Mockey is an online mockup generator with 30,000+ templates in more than 60 categories, including frame, canvas and poster mockups. On 2026-10-28 its home page said it has a free plan; free downloads are JPG. Its paid plans add PNG downloads, video mockups and AI tools; we could not load its regular pricing page, so check it for today's prices.

Where it is better: breadth of products and templates, and video mockups.

Canva

Best for: sellers who already design their listings and social posts in Canva.

Canva's mockup generator sits inside its design suite, with frame and poster mockups among many product types. Canva has a free plan and a paid Pro plan. Canva's own pages would not load for our checker on 2026-10-28, so we don't quote a price here; check Canva's pricing page.

Where it is better: everything in one design tool you may already use, from listing graphics to social posts.

Placeit

Best for: shops that need mockups, logos and videos for many products from one subscription.

Placeit has art print, canvas and frame mockups among a very large library. On 2026-10-28 its home page showed one subscription with no download limit, billed yearly at $89.69 ($7.47 a month equivalent). Its pricing page showed other discount figures that didn't agree, so check it before you buy. Our Placeit alternative page compares it with WallMock.

Where it is better: variety across products and one price for many template types.

Pacdora

Best for: packaging and 3D product mockups, with a wall art tool on the side.

Pacdora's wall art mockup generator lets you upload an image and download HD PNGs for free. On 2026-10-28 its pricing page listed a free plan for personal use and paid tiers with higher-resolution and video exports; the prices did not display for us, so check the page.

Where it is better: 3D and packaging mockups, if you sell more than wall art.

Printify and Printful built-in mockups

Best for: sellers who print through them and want quick product images at no extra cost.

Printify's mockup generator says its mockups are watermark-free and free for over 2,000 products, with AI scenes for Premium users on select products. Printful's mockup generator says all mockups for Printful products are free. Both focus on their own products, often on clean backgrounds.

Where they are better: no extra tool or cost, and the mockup matches their product. Many sellers add room photos from another tool on top; see our guides to Printify mockups and Printful mockups.

Questions

What is the best wall art mockup generator?

It depends on what you sell and how many designs you list. For true-scale sizing at a low monthly price, WallMockup. For gallery and collector tools, ArtPlacer. For many product types, Mockey, Canva or Placeit. For many wall art designs shown in the same curated rooms, with the art placed exactly as supplied, WallMock.

Is there a free wall art mockup generator?

Several have a free option: WallMock gives free watermarked previews with no sign-up, Smartist and Mockey have free plans, Canva has a free plan, WallMockup has a 7-day trial with no card, and Printify and Printful mockups are free for their own products.

Which mockup generator shows true scale?

WallMockup says every scene is measured so the print shows at the size you sell, in inches and centimetres. WallMock shows a sensible starting size in each room and keeps the artwork's proportions, but it is not a measuring tool.

Which tools let me use my own room photo?

On the pages we checked, ArtPlacer's Personal Spaces (from its Standard plan) and Smartist's upload-your-own-space feature do. WallMock uses its own curated rooms.

Is WallMock the same as WallMockup?

No. WallMock (wallmock.com) is not WallMockup (wallmockup.net). They are different products from different companies.

How were these tools checked?

We read each company's own public pages on 2026-10-28 and quote only what they say. Where a page contradicted itself or would not load, we left the number out and point you to the company's pricing page.
